Graces given by Our Lord

Graces attached to the practice of the devotion in honor of the Sorrowful Blessed Virgin Mary

Pelbart relates that it was revealed to Saint Elizabeth of Hungary that after the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin into Heaven, St. John the Evangelist desired to see Her again. The favor was granted to him; and Mary appeared to him accompanied by Her Son. The saint then heard Mary ask Jesus to grant some special graces to all those who are devoted to Her Sorrows.

OUR LORD PROMISED HER FOUR PRINCIPAL GRACES:

  1. Those who invoke the divine Mother in the name of Her Sorrows, will obtain true repentance of all their sins before death;
  2. Our Savior will protect all who have this devotion in their tribulations, especially at the hour of death;
  3. He will impress upon them the memory of His Passion, and will reward them for it in Heaven;
  4. He will place such devout servants in Mother Mary’s hands to do with them as She wishes, and to obtain for them all the graces She desires.
